Sugar High Easter

News flash Sweettarts now makes a sour jelly bean.. and they are amazing! .. But I'm not happy I'm addicted. I bought a bag on Saturday night took them over to a friend's house and they were gone in about an hour.. At church my friend Michelle said she kept dreaming about them.. I seriously considered going to the grocery store on Monday, when they would be half off, to stock up.. but then my health conscience got the better of me.. why oh why did I listen.. now they are gone until next year :( Be on the look out for them in 2010.

Sunday morning was spent reflecting on the true meaning of Easter and making my very own Spring Necklace.. Despiration the Mother of Inspiration.. (I had nothing so wear to church that was Easterish) so I dug into my bead drawer .. and creative genius set in with this .."planned randomness".. (Wish I had a better pictures to Model it)

After Church I headed up to the OC to hang out with the extended Fam for more fun.. where we had an amazing dinner followed by my Grandma's famous cheese cake and the Easter Bunny partied late on a school night. EB put out a golden egg this year with $20 inside which was a real crowd pleaser (good thing he hasn't quit his day job)..

Two Good Eggs.. my Cousin Moranda and her Hubby Clark....

displaying their fabulous tie died eggs.. these babies were held in reserve from the festivities.

I wasn't able to get many shots of the ensuing Easter Egg Hunt..

but I thought this one was cute..

Hope everyone had a Very Happy Happy Easter!

Ridiculous Ranunculus

Since it's been way to long since I posted.. and your probably thinking way to long since I've had any fun to brag about.. at long last I'm back.. so I've either been having so much fun that I haven't had time to blog about it.... or maybe I've been working too hard..

In any case San Diego experienced some ridiculously awesome weather last Saturday and I went to visit the famous Carlsbad Ranunculus also very unknown as the Persian Buttercup and was able to mess around with my cool camera again which was super awesome!

They are soooo beautiful.. if you haven't seen them in all their glory.. you should.. and don't wait too long.. cause they won't be here forever! (Field Open Til May.. for more info http://www.theflowerfields.com/)

Falling in Love with Fall

I think summer is my favorite season.. however I'm beccome quite partical to fall. The colors are amazing! I am so wishing that I was in a place with some changing seasons.. just for a bit... I know.. what a shame I'm stuck in San Diego. It's still in the 80s right now.. not even jacket weather! This is about as fall as it gets here.

Project Sew Possible Continues

Check out my 2nd sewing project..

I started making it in my beginning sewing class and got so into it that I finished it at home the same day.. I've been carrying into work with me the past couple days... and it's pretty much the best tote ever..
I think this could maybe even pass for store bought?

Itching to do some Stitching

I have been on the look out for some stylish relatively inexpensive chair cushions for my dinning table for MONTHS.. I have scoured my favorite bargain havens (aka.. Ross, Marshall, TJ Max, World Market, etc.) and have found absolutely nothing that even come close to what I was imagining .. it seriously has been driving me to the brink of insanity.. (and shopping hardly ever aggravates me)...So I came up with bright idea to make my own. I mean why not.. (I also think watching Project Runway might have something to do with this sudden burst of fearless creativity).

I'll be the first to admit I am not a sewer... at all... my mom would probably be the second person to admit that about me... as I made her suffer during the couple lessons I made it through. I think I actually told her.. I wouldn't have a need for sewing as I was going to marry very well and would just buy everything I wanted. Sounds like something my bratty teenage self would say! And here it has come to bite me in the butt.....Never did it occur to me that what I wanted might not be out there and I would be forced to take matters into my own hands.

So my friend Megan and I went sewing machine shopping. The Sew Hut (where I bought my machine) happened to be having their 10 year anniversary party at the time we arrived. After much deliberation and hands on testing.. I am now the proud owner of a Bernina Activa 220 (Pictured above). It was announced loudly in the store that I was purchasing my first machine.. and I kid you not several people started hugging me.. welcoming me to the Sew Hut family. It was strange but some how fit with the whole experience.

It takes a couple weeks for them the ship the machine..but it was worth the wait.. I love it! Who would have thought!

Fruit, Fruit

My Fruit Kabobs turned out so pretty.. just wanted to show them off.. how very Martha Stewart of me! :)

10% Wildcat Accounting

Today at work...I was asked, by one of my bosses, to create a spreadsheet (or matrix if you will) that should include the following ingredients:

80% Accounting Methodology
10% Moral Compass
10% Wildcat

A TALL ORDER...Yes this is really my job! As you can see it's very subjective and creative.. (I've also been asked to create my bosses birthday party invitations)...I ask you ..where else can you get this kind of training (or lack of?)?
In this economy you've gotta learn to be a multitasker and read between the lines.
Okay... sad thing is... I think I know how to prepare such a thing!....SCARY.. I have been with these guys for too long!
